Pedigree Dog Food Update

As you know, not too long ago, I switched our dog Zoe from her old dog food to Pedigree dog food specially formulated for large breeds.  The switch was easy.  Zoe had no issues at all switching.  I was a tad concerned because the last thing I wanted to do was upset her stomach or something.  But switching to Pedigree has been a breeze.  At first, Zoe had a little issue with chewing the food because the pieces are a lot larger than her old food.  However, that is no longer a problem at all!  The main thing I’ve noticed is the fact that she no longer eats mouthfuls at a time.  Instead, Zoe chews each and every bite before swallowing.  That makes me feel better…ever see Marley and Me?  Zoe used to eat like that dog and after reading the book and movie, I have to admit, I was very concerned with her getting her stomach all twisted up from eating like that.  But the larger pieces are forcing her to slow down her eating.

Zoe is a really healthy dog.  Her coat is very shiny (especially after brushing).  Around this time of year, Zoe usually will start getting dry skin, but so far, I haven’t noticed any!  I’m hoping things stay that way.  I hate using the special shampoo on her to help with dry skin…it doesn’t smell all that nice!  When it comes to her backyard duties, I’ve noticed that her stools look just slightly firmer.  Which is good for her.  Every so often I used to give her canned pumpkin to help empty her anal glands (never thought I would type the words anal glands on my blog!!).  So far I haven’t had to do that either.

All in all, I really like Pedigree brand dog food.  The price is better than what I was paying before AND I can use coupons.  I LOVE coupons!  I have recommended Pedigree to anyone that has a dog or has asked me what I feed Zoe.  If you go to www.pedigree.com there is a $3.00 coupon you can download and use on your bag of Pedigree Dog Food!

Be sure to check out Pedigree at their Pedigree Adoption Drive Facebook page and on Twitter!

I wrote this review while participating in an Ambassador campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Pedigree and received dog food to facilitate my reviews and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
